Why Vibez Radar exists – and how we maintain it together.

The idea

This project grew out of noticing that, thanks to social media, there is a flood of information today – and yet I never managed to find an event. Either I had already missed it, or I simply did not know which platform to search on in the first place.

I used to be able to fall back on a stash of flyers at home. Today I comb through artists, clubs and social media – and mostly stay trapped in my own network bubble. Especially when looking for an event with a sound system, the options quickly got small. That is why I wanted a calendar you can search by attributes.

A community project

We see this website as a community project. The content should not be maintained by a small group of moderators. Power to the People!

With "Ambassadors" we share the task of inviting and managing new soundbwoys across several people – who are also better connected in their own region.

Our wish

We hope this platform brings more visibility to our sound culture in Switzerland again – and shows that the reggae and sound-system scene has more to offer than a handful of big concerts.
